First Ultrasound!

I was just over 10weeks when I had this appointment I left work early to go to a dentist appointment then head to my doctors appt. Kevin met me there and of course we had to wait, I've learned that is typical for one of those doctors offices. We finally get called back and the tech was so nice and made the experience even better how excited she was for us and how informative she was. FYI the first ultrasound is not like you we in tv or movies (on the belly) that is all will say. Anyways She turns the machine to show us and I about died, it actually looked like a legit baby. I was shocked how easy it was to tell. The tech asked me if I had coke for lunch and I said yes, we ran out of caffeine free, I drank a dr. Pepper which she said was fine but also  beneficial for us today bc of how active the little thing was. I could totally tell the difference in the arms, legs, head and bum. It was so crazy!!! Here is one of the sonogram pictures

Week 9

Week 9 in review

I don't plan on doing this for every week unless I notice anything different.

My Symptoms: I felt no nausea this week which I was very happy about however it also made me worried that something had happened. Of course nothing was wrong and I started to realize that about half way through the week when I started feeling my next symptom, exhaustion. Well right now I guess it's just that I'm tired not quite exhausted yet. One night I went to bed at 9:30 and didn't wake up until 8:15 which is at least a good 2 1/2 hours more than I normally get.

Weight:  I am now about 3 lbs more than my normal weight.

Sleep: obviously I am sleeping fine I just want to sleep all the time.

Cravings: haven't had any cravings but I have noticed I am eating more than normal. Donuts have been very satisfying. :)

Other happenings: Kevin went out of town this week and I did not like it. I already hate being home by myself as it is but this week was harder.

Week 8 in Review

My Symptoms: I haven't felt as nauseous this week as the last two but I still have my moments daily. I never feeling like eating but I make myself eat the basic 3 meals a day bc I always feel better for the 2 hours after I eat. Snacking throughout the day doesn't really help as its just a snack and I think I need to be full.

Weight: I haven't gained any yet but I have always fluctuated between 118-121 and this week I have been more on the upper end of that. I read I should only gain between 25-30lbs so that is my goal

Gender: we won't be Able to see for a few more weeks

Movement: Way too early

Sleep: It's getting uncomfortable to sleep on my stomach I think just bc I worry I'm smashing the baby but I read you cant harm the baby this early. Another reason I don't sleep on my stomach is I think it makes me have to pee more often. I wake up at least once a night to go pee and sometimes right before my alarm is set to go off but I try to hold it so I can sleep a little longer.

Cravings:  I haven't really craved anything this week, nothing ever sounds good. I just eat what I normally do but even smaller portions bc I get full quicker. I bought some BBQ flavor sun flower seeds today while I worked and they were awesome.

What I miss: not having to worry. Guess that won't end for the next 18 yrs. I'm always worried I'll get really nauseous and throw up which is the worst thing ever. I am also constantly worrying about miscarrying only bc we have waited for this so I'm very conscious about everything.

Best Pregnancy Moment This Week: we received a card in the mail from Gammy (Kevin's  maternal grandmother) it was so sweet what it said.

Other happenings: my mom and sister went shopping while on vacation (shocker they were shopping? Nope that's vacation for them) but they bought this girl outfit
and then this shirt girl or boy they said jeans for boy and denim skirt for girl

and some gender neutral onesies. And of course my sister would not pass up getting this onesie.

At least they have good taste in baby clothes. Tomorrow is August 3rd and I will be 9weeks!

1st Craving...

July 20
I had my first craving tonight. I hadn't eaten a lot of meat all week and I came home from work and told Kevin I was starving. On the way home I was thinking of what sounded good and the winner was chinese food! I wanted to make sure it was good so we went to our trusty grand china in Loganville. I got a combo order of Mongolian beef and plain fried rice. Kevin and I usually share and still have leftovers but I knew mine would be gone. I scarfed that thing down. I didn't want to eat too much and make myself sick so about 1/2 way through I put it away. But it was soooo good. About 30min. Later I got it back out and reheated it and ate about 1/2 of what was left. I made myself stop eating just so I would have a little leftover for lunch the next day and be able to enjoy it a second time. It was the best.

Best hubby and week 6

First let me say i have the best husband in the world. He made and served me breakfast in bed. I can tell how much he already cares for this baby as he brought me fruit and made me drink orange juice (which I hate) so that I will get good nutrients to make this baby healthy. I love being able to see how happy and excited our family is for us but I love seeing it in Kevin. The little things he does that shows how much he cares and how excited he is. This week on multiple occasions I have seen that. He is always making sure I am comfortable. He went to the grocery store and bought all these foods that he thinks I'll want to snack on or eat for dinner,  he bought jolly ranchers for me to suck on at work if I feel nauseous. What else can I say he is the best.

Week 6
Also this week I have really felt the "morning sickness" luckily it hasn't been horrible which I am so thankful for but it hasn't been pleasant either. I have had this slight nauseous feeling all day everyday So far. I never actually get sick but it's always there. What I think makes it worse is how much I worry about it. If you know me I do not handle throw up well. The last time I got sick was when I was 24 and Kevin wasn't home and I called my mom just bawling that I had thrown up. So yes I am a wimp. I know God is taking care of me though and has allowed me to bypass the actual throwing up part so far. I never feel like eating and nothing ever sounds good but I eat anyways and as soon as I have eaten I feel  a whole lot better.

Telling the BIG news!

July 10th

Last night was Kevin and his twin's birthday so we had a huge family dinner at their house, we could have told everyone at once but didn't want to tell anyone other than our parents until we went to the doctor, so nothing was said. I had texted my mom on Monday and said lets do wings at your house tomorrow.  (we always eat wings with them so nothing out of the ordinary) mom said she didn't feel  like wings and my sister is in town working at the mart and they said she wouldnt be home early enough for dinner so maybe another time. I was thinking to myself, no we are coming to your house! So I texted her back and said well we need to come over and get the stuff we left when we went out of town and show them wedding pictures and video we took (Kevin was videographer for the wedding). She said that's fine so we were back on track and it ended up that we did eat wings but as they were cooking we were all talking in the kitchen (my sister got home early) so it was the 5 of us and i was ready to tell the news and my dads phone rings, uh... My heart was beating so fast at this point anxious to tell them I answer it and it was my brother Mitch with a question about something at home depot so i answered it and hung up and kept the phone so if it rang again I could hit ignore. Finally I turn to my mom and dad and said "I think I have a rash or eczema again on my stomach"(side note randomly a few months ago I got this rash that ended up being eczema, this was my IN to show them my stomach)  and I lift up my shirt to show them and on my stomach Kevin had written in a speech bubble "will you be my grandparents" they were shocked!!!! My dad's face was priceless he literally was shocked and i dont think we have ever surprised him that much. My mom just started screaming "No way no way" balling....my poor sister Nina  had no clue what was going on bc she was behind me and didn't see it, she thought I had some awful disease. You can see the video we took of it all going down Here It was so awesome we were able to surprise them, they had no idea we were trying and they were so excited. It was a great feeling.

July 11th
We finally got a chance to tell Kevin's parents, Kevin called and said we were on our way home from church and had some tool we needed to bring back to them so we would stop by. We went inside to say hi and Kevin kept asking how was your day blah blah blah I was thinking hurry up already my heart is pounding with excitement again. Finally he said "hey we have a question for both of you, starting in march of 2013 we need a couple of grandparents for our new addition" and their faces were also priceless and full of excitement. It was so fun and I am so glad we finally got to tell them. My first doctors appointment is set for Tuesday July 17th and if my calculations are right I will be 6 weeks this Friday July 13th. Once we go to the doctor to verify this is all true we will announce it to all of our siblings and then September is when we will officially announce it. (obviouly with you reading this now you know we couldnt wait until september.)

Pink lines

July8th

What a busy week we have had. On june 29th we were headed to lake watagua in butler tennessee to hang out for the holiday weekend with our friends. Its a tradition we always try to go every 4th of july. This was also the week i was suppose to "start". Nothing ever happened and i had mentioned it to one of my friends that I might be but didn't want to know for sure until when we got back home. Well after we left the lake we headed to Nashville for my brother nicks wedding. It was beautiful, fun and memorable but we were anxious to get home. I knew after being out of town for a week and being late for over a week it meant something was up! on our way home we stopped by CVS to pick up a pregnancy test, we already had one from our dear friend Erin (from the lake house trip) but wanted another just to be sure. Well who knew these things come in like a box of 3 and cost so much, it was like 17.99 but I knew it would be money well spent. We finally got home and I took the first test, it immediately showed positive so I called Kevin in and we just stared at it and were so excited but I think in shock as well. I decided to take the second one just to be sure and of course I had to chug lots of water to make myself have to pee again and that one said to wait 3 mins. It was the loooongest 3 min. of my life! Finally the second little pink line showed up and we celebrated again and took some pictures.
