Lillian's 52nd Week

Hard to believe my baby girl will be 1 year old tomorrow! I do miss the snuggly non-squirmy newborn sometimes but seeing Lillian's personality, hearing her giggle and say "Momma and Dada" totally makes me love every new moment with her.

I realize I cut off her head in this next picture but it was too funny not to post. I kept saying "cheese" to get her to smile and she just stared at me so I said "smile" and this is what she gave me. lol.

Then she got tired of taking pictures and knew I'd quit if she took off her bow.

Sleep: Lillian slept well this week. I still don't think the time change affected her but she did wake up between 6:15 and 6:30am most mornings instead of the 7:15 time she had been waking up.Her naps were also shorter this week. One nap would be between 40 minutes and an hour and the other between an hour and a half to two hours.

Eating: Lillian didn't seem to eat as much this week. that may have been why she woke up early most mornings but she just refused to eat and i'm not going to force my child to eat. I'm not sure what her norm is the hollow leg weeks or weeks last this week but either way she eats pretty healthy compared to me so I just pray she continues to not be picky.

Other Happenings:
- Lillian started throwing fits this week. They weren't terrible but definitely different than her norm. It was usually if she was hungry, if I tried to make her do something, or if I was changing her diaper. Girl does not like lying down on the changing table. You would think she'd be happy to get those stinky diapers off. Her fits would consist of her throwing her hand down or going limp if I was holding her and then she'd let out a fuss.
- She started pointing to things she wants this week. While eating I keep her cup off to the side and between bites she will point for her milk. Another time Kevin was holding her and she pointed to the window so she could see outside. I like that she points so I know what she wants as long as she doesn't become demanding. We started working on signing please this week. Its a hard one so I'm not sure if it'll stick but hopefully she'll grasp the meaning every time I say it when she wants something.
- We celebrated Lillian's 1st birthday this last weekend.
- I did stick Lillian on the potty three times this week before her bath. 2 of the 3 times she actually went pee. I'm not trying to potty train her but it does help her get use to the idea. She is a little scared sitting up there because she isn't sturdy but I always let her know I'm holding her.
- Every morning I bring Lillian into my bed to nurse because its warm and when she is done she can't sit still but you can tell she is still just waking up because she will randomly lay her head down for 5 seconds then be up and moving again. I caught a rare moment of her so still.

Our Georgia Peach's 1st Birthday Party

Lillian's birthday is this Wednesday March 19th but over the weekend we had her 1st Birthday Party. We are renting a house here in Huntsville so we limited the invites to just family and we still had about 25 people here. It was a little overwhelming and I was not nearly as prepared as I thought I was but thankful for family who helps out tremendously.

Lillian was born in Georgia and we moved to Alabama a week after she was born so technically she is a Georgia peach just like her momma so that was our "theme" for her first birthday. Here are her invitations that Kevin made (I couldn't find the file on our computer so this is a picture of the one I put in a frame for decoration)

The party was from 2-4 so I wouldn't have to worry about a ton of food but we did make a few little things. There were blueberries (Lillian's favorite), grapes, and strawberry skewers, chips and salsa, cheese and crackers, those little gummy peach rings, peach cobbler and cookies instead of a big cake.

The cookies were huge and amazing. My sister's best friend and long time family friend Katie over at CupKatie made these. I love special details like this to help make a special day more memorable.

Here are a few more pictures of the fun we had celebrating our favorite 1 year old!
Chowing down on those blueberries

Family Picture!

Can't wait for the beach. This is one stylin' Babe-y

This was when we started singing Happy Birthday. She wasn't sure what was going on.

testing it out. Thanks to my mom for making Lillian a quick smash cake. I planned on not doing it but I'm glad we did.

She was definitely a fan of that cake!

Lillian got lots of great educational toys, fun toys, books, and super cute clothes.

She would hold all the clothes up to her face and giggles. Lillian takes after her Aunt Nina and loves her clothes.

She surprisingly liked looking at all the cards

Super cute dress that Nena knitted for her. I love the colors.

and another super cute outfit cousin Teri made her. One side has a cupcake and the reverse side has a bunny applique so we will get good use out of this outfit.

Reading a book with Nana

Blowing kisses to everyone to say thank you for coming to my party!

Lillian's 51st Week

Sleep: the first half of the week Lillian was waking early again around 6 and 6:30am. We just left her alone and she would fall back asleep. The time change hasn't really affected her. Sundays are never on schedule so we just made sure she got enough naps and ever since she has been back on her regular schedule. Her morning naps are getting shorter and her afternoon one is usually her two hour nap. I think she is probably ready to drop her morning nap but i'm waiting until after her birthday party this coming Saturday so she'll be well rested.

Eating: eating well and still filling up her hollow leg. She had her first taste of peanut butter on Sunday. My dad made peanut butter fudge and we gave her little crumb pieces. No reaction thank goodness but I wasn't very worried since I ate peanut butter all throughout my pregnancy and while nursing. Plus she has had Chickfila multiple times and they use peanut oil.

Other Happenings:
- Lillian has been vocal this week. She started mimicking words i'm saying and noises i make. In the bath tub we play with her rubber duck and i say "duck" and "quack quack" and she repeats back something that sounds similar to that.  We also heard a dog while we were out on our walk and she made her own barking noise.
- Lillian finally said Momma at me for the first time. We thought maybe she was calling me "na" because she said it so much but she finally was calling for  me and it sounded like Momma.
- Laughing is another sound we have been hearing often this week. Lillian will randomly start laughing in her car seat or while playing on the floor. Its super cute to hear but so random. Its not a fake laugh but it is forced lol.
- We had another birthday party we went to this weekend. It was for Lillian's first friend Cohen who is exactly one week older than Lillian. They are starting to really interact more together and I wanted to get a picture of them. Here is one of the sweet ones where Lillian wasn't crying and Cohen has her arm around Lillian's shoulder.
- Kevin was in Atlanta this weekend meeting with a Realtor to put our house on the market. I'm very excited and hoping we have good response from the listing. Once we get a contract we can finally put in some offers on the homes we have found here. Since Kevin was out of Lillian and I went up to see my parents Saturday night. I hate being home alone especially now with Lillian. It was a short trip but worth it. Lillian got to drive her new car.

I got two of these from an online yard sale super cheap. One is for her birthday and the other one stays at my parents' house. They have a great patio out back for riding toys. She seemed to like it but you can push her forward or her feet trip her up.

I cannot believe that in a week she will be 1 Year Old. She is such a sweet easy going baby and we have had a very blessed first year with her!

Lillian's 50th Week

Lillian was 50 Weeks old on Tuesday March 4th!

Sleep: This week was another great week of sleep. She would sleep in until about 7:15am and would wake up and just talk to her self until someone went in and got her.

Eating:  We are trying to fill up that hollow leg of hers. Maybe I underestimate how much food a baby would eat but she is not a happy camper unless she has a full belly. I am already starting to see how nursing her was much more easier. I did drop her 11am feeding so now she only nurses at 7am and 7pm. I didn't mind nursing her at 11am but she wasn't getting much out. Now she nurses at 7am we go eat breakfast with daddy about 8ish, she eats lunch a little closer to 11:30, snack at about 3pm and dinner about 5-5:30 and her last feeding at 7pm. There is not a lot she won't eat still the only things have been eggs and meat. She will occasionally eat chicken if it is small enough and not shredded.

Teeth: No new teeth but she loves to rub things against the two she has.

Other Happenings:
- Lillian attended her first birthday party for her little friend Hagen. It was a super cute party with a Snips and snails and puppy dog tails theme. And Lillian loved getting to crawl all over the place with some little friends.
- we had some fun sweet times this week. Lillian was in the best moods and laughing a lot.
- Lillian found a new toy and loves to get a reaction out of daddy. Here is a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hx4kLd3HTA&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Lillian's 49th Week

49 Weeks Old on Tuesday Feb. 25th.

Eating: Kevin is pretty sure Lillian has a hollow leg. She has started eating a lot more. I'm not sure how mom's with boys don't go poor. lol. One morning she had a whole banana, half an egg, and toast, all after I already nursed her. And when all of that was gone she threw a fit like she was still hungry. For dinner the other night Kevin fed her a whole squash (side note: I didn't even know how to cook it and when I asked someone they said what kind of squash and my answer was "yellow" which did not answer her question.), a couple ounces of carrots, blueberries, and goldfish. Then I nursed her within 45 min. she eats about as much food as I do. We all know I am a picky eater and we do not want Lillian to be the same way. She eats fruit at every meal so I am trying to do better about getting more veggies in her and educating myself on what all is out there.

Sleeping: Sleeping great but the first 3 days of this week she started waking up at 6:00 am. then the rest of the week she slept until 6:30 am. Not sure why she wouldn't make it until 7 but I'm hoping it goes back to 7am soon. Her naps were great. She gets about 3 1/2-4 hrs worth of naps each day but sometimes it'll be two hours each or 2hrs 45min in the morning and 45min in the afternoon. I have tried to pay better attention to her sleep cues and not put her down too early just because of what time it was but also not too late just because she hasn't yawned. Luckily she is pretty easy to read and sticks to the same schedule.

Teething: Surprisingly again no new teeth cutting through yet. I will be glad when she does have more teeth to help her eat. It will also mean less prep work for me.

Words: Still just saying Dada, Hey, Hi and Momma. I was facetiming my sister and she was trying to get Lillian to say Aunt Nina. She said something that sounded like it once and then later Nina called Lillian's name to look back at the screen and Lillian definitely said "Ah NI na" Of course my sister went crazy. If I try to get her to say it again or even say Momma on command all she says is Na Na.

Other Happenings:
- I am not enjoying her new car seat. Mainly when I have to run in two places really quickly and I can't just lug in her and the car seat. I have to unbuckle and buckle every time. This is not a big deal during the day but last night I had just buckled her back in after shopping in one store and we drove half a mile to another place (dollar general) to run in and buy one thing. I spent more time unbuckling and buckling her in then I did in the store. It was around 6pm (already dark here) and this dollar general is not in the safest up and coming part of town, but it was closest and I didn't want to drive 5 extra miles to find a real grocery store. Anyways, every noise I heard I thought for sure was someone creeping up behind me.
- I worked a consignment sale one day this week and was gone for about 6 hours. When I got home Lillian was still awake and saw me walk in the door and I got to experience What Dada experiences every night when he gets home from work. Lillian crawled over to me so fast and gave me this huge grin. It was the sweetest thing.
- Speaking of consignment sales I got Lillian's whole summer wardrobe. I spent more money than I expected but actually came out pretty good. I got 4 smocked outfits, her birthday present (toy) and 10 other clothing/shoe items and spent just over $100. It was a shock at first because I only ever buy her or myself clothes one article at a time but in reality I'm done shopping for her this summer and a few items are good for this spring and early fall. We will get good use out of them and can always resale later.
- She is not standing on her own yet but maybe here or there for a few seconds she gets her balance. She is walking more with her little walker toy. Here is a video I took this morning Walking with Walker Toy
-We finally had some nice weather this week so a few days Lillian and I played outside and went for a few walks. She loves it outside.

Didn't mind the grass this time

I took this picture to show her hair is starting to lighten up again. In all the pictures we take inside it looks more red because of the lighting but if you see her in person it's more dirty blonde/brown. I hope once we get outside more it'll keeping lightening up to show more of the red again.

Lillian's 47 & 48th Weeks

I got lazy and never typed up Lillian's 47th week (Feb.4th-11th) so I'm combining it with this last week which was her 48th week (Feb 11th-17th). Here is Lillian's 47th week picture
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

And Here is her 48th Week picture

Sleep: Surprisingly a great 2 weeks of sleep. Her 47th week she was still a little congested so she slept in her swing and her 48th week she slept all night in her crib. She would wake up occasionally and have this cough that sounded like she was choking but then would fall right back to sleep. Her nose wasn't runny anymore so i'm not sure what she was coughing up. May have been extra saliva from teething. Her naps weren't the usual 2 hour naps but she would sleep at least an hour or so twice a day and may need that 3rd little catnap if we were keeping her busy with something.

Eating: The first week she wasn't eating very many solids. She seemed disinterested but nursed very well. The second week I think she was making up for not eating as much because she seemed to always be hungry. Even saved some for later on those sweet chubby cheeks

She amazes me with her pincer grasp. I gave her some corn, peas, and brown rice on her high chair tray and she picks out all of the peas and eats those first. But the fact that she can pick up that little veggie and actually get it into her mouth it pretty amazing. That's not something I taught her but she learned. I have also given her a spoon with sweet potato on it and she will grab it and put it in her mouth. She may miss a few times but for the most part is pretty coordinated. She holds her sippy cup on her own when she wants to actually drink it but I won't leave it within her reach because she likes to turn it upside down and bang it against her tray.

Other Happenings:
- During her 48th week was when we had all the snow and cold weather here in the south. Luckily Daddy was able to work from home so Momma didn't go crazy. We did finally get out on Thursday (after being inside since Sunday) to go out to lunch and the grocery store. I was never so excited to go to the store!
- Lillian says Dadda non-stop, she says other things too that sound like Momma and hey.
- She loves to "talk on the phone" If we give her a phone she'll hold it to her ear but most of the time she'll put her hand to her ear and say "hey".

- We went to Nashville this weekend. Kevin had a guy's weekend for his friend's birthday so Lillian and I hung out at Nana and Papa's. We had one nice afternoon so we went down to their neighborhood playground. Not baby friendly but Lillian loved the see-saw.

- Lillian still isn't a fan of most men but she is warming up to Papa more. By Sunday she let him hold her and they grilled our lunch together and she even played with him in the floor. She had to explain the new technology to Papa.

- She loves her Nana too but kept locking her in the pantry. Here is a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XE1_KMFFwiU

- We also moved Lillian into her new car seat during her 47th week.
She does just as well in this one as in her other one but we have noticed it is a little harder to strap her in. We have the Britax Boulevard G-70 and there is a strap wrapped around the shoulder straps in the back that make it hard to loosen enough when first putting her in. We may be doing something wrong.
- She plays really well by herself
I love this little booty

She stands on her tip toes a lot.

Sweet smiles
- Daddy got some special time with Lillian and let her play with some of his toys too. She'll be a Georgia Tech Engineer and your boss all too soon.
