Baby #2: Pregnancy Week 36

36 weeks as of September 9th!
Didn't take a picture maybe i'll remember tomorrow and come back and add it.

Baby Growth:

  • She's getting closer and closer to being able to breathe on her own.
  • Her skin is getting smooth and soft and her gums are rigid.
  • Her liver and kidneys are in working order.
  • Circulation and immune systems are basically good to go, too.
Symptoms:
- heartburn
- still having trouble falling asleep or back asleep if I wake in the middle of the night.
- At the point where I have to pee every hour. I try not to drink much before bed so I won't have to go potty in the middle of the night.
- fingers and foot are swelling a little more. surprised I can still wear my wedding ring but more often I have been taking them off. My ring finger is also raw looking where my rings sit and will itch occasionally.

Movement:
- still moving quite a lot which is good. My doctor said if I start to notice her not moving or significantly less to give them a call. He said she will move less the more she grows and less room she has but any concern to call.

Weight Gain:
As of this morning I am 34lbs above pre-pregnancy weight which is less than last week so maybe I've hit a plateau!

Doctor Appointment:
I had my 36 week doctor appointment today. My blood pressure was 110/60 and baby girl's heart rate was 145. Doctor said numbers look good and that she hasn't dropped yet but she is head down. I can feel her legs kicking me in the right side. I had to be tested for the Group B strep and even though my doctor doesn't start checking you until 38 weeks he went ahead and checked and said what I figured... no progress. Which was actually good to hear because if he said I was 1 cm dilated I would have gotten my hopes up and been at that for 5 weeks like I was with Lillian. Here's to hoping maybe next weeks appointment I'll be like a 4! :)

Thoughts:
As much as I would love for her to come early I know it is better for her to keep growing. Plus we are not ready yet. Yes technically all we need is a few diapers, onesies, and momma's milk but it would be nice to have everything done before she gets here instead of trying to finish and organize things with two little ones running around. I plan on packing a hospital bag this week and nag Kevin to hang curtains in the nursery and get the car seat out of storage. Any other organizing will just be a bonus!

Baby #2: Pregnancy Week 35

So I fell behind and haven't updated since week 32 so I'll try and remember what all has gone on but the most important thing is I'm still pregnant no baby yet...
35 Weeks!
p.s. my arm looks huge! That's why I like to always wear something with sleeves. That'll be my first set of muscles I target after baby is here!

Baby's Growth:

-Now, her hearing is fully developed, and she responds best to high-pitched noises.
- She's about 17.2 to 18.7 inches. From here on out, she won't get much longer, but she's plumping up.
-You’ve reached 35 weeks, and your uterus has grown about 1,000 times its original size, a number that might sound exaggerated to everyone else -- but to you it probably feels more like a million.

Symptoms:
-Heartburn hasn't been as bad lately but its still there
- TIRED! I have had multiple nights where I can't get comfortable to sleep and I toss and turn all night. Lately, I have had problems falling asleep. We are talking like 2 hours after I get in bed. Or a few nights where I may actually fall asleep at 10 like I should but I end up waking up at 4am and can't go back to sleep until 6:30 and thats about the time Lillian starts to wake up.
- My feet and hands have started swelling occasionally.
- I had a couple days where I wasn't sure if I was having contractions or not since I didn't really remember what they felt like with Lillian. I have had Braxton Hicks quite a bit and those are usually higher on my belly but these low ones had me worried at first.

Movement:
- Moving strong and I always feel her the most on the right upper side of my belly. I think it might be where her feet and knees are.

Weight Gain:
- I think I am about 35 lbs above pre-pregnancy weight so I would love to stop here but according to The Bump I should expect about half a pound a week leading up to the baby's arrival...

Doctor Appointment:
-I did have an appointment last Thursday for my 34 week check up. I haven't had any issues lately so I don't ever have questions and my doctor said you are easy you should have 5 more. I was like no thank you! This one was not nearly as fun as my first child so we will have to see what the Lord has in store for our future family but hopefully it won't be 5 more! Baby's heart rate was 153 and this time I measured right at 34 weeks instead of 2 weeks ahead like I had been.

Thoughts:
I am over being pregnant! I don't know if it is because it has been the summer or if there is no mystery in pregnancy since this is my second but I am looking forward to having her here with us outside my belly! I know people say it is easier when they are still inside the womb but bring on the challenge of having her out. I over being so huge I can't stand very long and bending over is impossible. But really I'm super excited about finally meeting her and getting those sweet baby snuggles even if they are at 3am. I'm not sleep well right now anyways so I might as well have a sweet face to look at than having to stare at Kevin's beard! :)

Blessing:
Our church through a shower for Miss Adeline last week after church. My mom and sister came down and i forgot to really take any pictures but it was such a blessing to see so many (many who I have never met as we haven't even be members there more than a year and a half and there are about 1500 memembers) who already care and love this sweet girl and will be there to help us raise her and teach the love of Christ and our Heavenly Father.

This was my corsage made by one of my hostesses. it is a paci, a bow, and two pairs of socks!

A few more pics below my sister got on her phone:

Moments of the week:
Well since it has been 3 weeks since I updated I'm sure there were lots of moments. We have been busy but one sweet moment this last weekend was Lillian playing with her baby doll and wrapped her in a blanket then put her in the crib and said "shh...Shh.." I think she is just as excited about baby sister as we are and I hope she feels that way once Adeline is here. She is always wanting to touch my belly and always tries to feed my belly her food or give Adeline a toy. She even shared her stickers from Kroger with baby sister.

Baby #2: Pregnancy Week 32

32 Weeks! as of Wednesday August 12th
Baby's Growth:
  • She's getting ready for her descent — she's likely in the head-down position now.
  • And she's probably feeling even more cramped.

Symptoms:
- I wouldn't be surprised if K2 comes out looking like Carrot Top with the heartburn I have had. It's not the worst symptom to have but it is no fun either.
- Having hard time getting comfortable at night. I have actually slept on our couch a couple nights because the back cushions support my back well. I have a pregnancy pillow that worked great with Lillian (in the winter) but makes me super hot during these summer months so I hate using it. My
- My fingers will swell occasionally I took my rings off once or twice this week just to make sure they don't get stuck but majority of the time I still wear them.
- Fatigue has started to hit again this last week. I never feel sleepy but I admit there are some days where I will give Lillian the iPad for an hour just so I can sit and relax for a bit. Also if I start cleaning or Lillian and I go outside to play I usually only last about 20-30 minutes before I just need to sit down for a few minutes before we get going again.
- People ask if it is harder this time around because I have to chase a toddler around but I don't think that makes it harder. Lillian isn't super rambunctious. The hard part to me is the squatting down to help her put shoes or clothes on. Or bending over to grab something she dropped. She also wants me to hold her and I physically can't because she is to heavy!
- I am not as hungry at dinner time as I had been. Some meals I just feel like eating cereal. Maybe this will help slow down the weight gaining.

Movement:
K2 has gone from a gymnast doing flips in my belly to the Karate Kid with her punches and kicks. I'm pretty sure she has the roundhouse kick down. Also anytime of day I lay flat on my back you can see the waves of movement in my belly. I said it with Lillian and the same rings true for K2, it is literally like something you would see in Men in Black. An alien moving throughout my body just waiting to pop out at you.

Weight Gain:
I can't see the scale anymore due to the pumpkin resting in my midsection but at the doctor yesterday they said I had gained about 30lbs. Hoping I won't gain anymore now but I know now is the time she really starts to gain weight so all hope is lost.

Doctor Appointment:
We had our 32 week check up. Nothing new to report. I really haven't had any questions or concerns when I go so I basically wait forever to see the doctor he asks how I'm feeling I say great. The listen to the heartbeat and measure my belly and I am out the door. Yesterday I had a 3rd year med-student see me with the doctor and he was nice but he measured me at 35 weeks and said K2's heart rate was 128 which is A LOT lower than normally has been so I'm not sure if that was accurate but we do know its still beating and no concerns even if it was 128 bpm. I did overhear another lady talking in the waiting room about her friend (who is due October 1st) and how her water just broke. Even though I'm over being pregnant I pray she will continue to grow and develop and be a strong healthy girl when we do meet her. Prayers for the other Mama though as I know she is stressed out up in the hospital praying her sweet baby.

Name:
We FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! have a name for K2. I had thought of the name before and may have even mentioned it but thought of it again this week and asked Kevin what he thought. He said he liked it and we sat on it for a few days to make sure and finally decided yes this is what her name should be. So without further ado her name will be Adeline Kate Kanzelmeyer. It flows well in our opinion and fits with Lillian Claire. I also may have liked it more because I had a wooden Monogram of aKk already because those are mine and Kevin's initials and I never painted it for our front door so now I can save a few bucks and use it for Adeline. Yes I realize I am cheap. :) I am not big on nicknames. I never call Lillian Lily (don't care if others do I just haven't) but I do like Addie as a nickname for Adeline so we will just see what I end  up calling her. Kevin said he will probably call her Addie more often than Adeline. He spells it ADDY though but I'm use to ADDIE because that is one of my best friends names growing up so again we will see what happens. It was a lot harder coming up with a name this time around and I hate that there isn't any family significance (technically Kate is my sister-in-laws middle name and we have a couple friends with girls named Addie we adore) but we just like the name.

Baby#2: Pregnancy Week 30

30 weeks on Wednesday July 29th
Baby Growth:
  • Her skin is getting smoother.
  • But her brain is getting wrinklier — to make way for all that essential brain tissue.
  • She's now strong enough to grasp a finger!
  • Around 3lbs??? Whoa this is getting real!

Symptoms:
- Heartburn, heartburn, heartburn
- At night if I stretch out my leg it cramps up with a charlie horse
- it is getting harder to find a comfortable position to sleep in and if i use my pregnancy pillow I get too hot. A few nights I woke up literally sweating.

Dr. Appointment:
We had a regular check up this week which meant it should have been short but we had to wait about an hour before we ever saw the doctor. Once I went back to a patient room we were in and out in about 10 minutes. I go every two weeks now. K2 looks good heartbeat around 140 and measuring at 33 weeks. I asked if that means she will come early and he said no just that she is big. lol. The week prior I had to do my 3 hour glucose test since I did not pass the one hour one and my results came back fine. Whew!

Weight Gain:
hovering around 28lbs above pre-pregnancy weight.

Name:
Poor girl still doesn't have a name. We have been throwing around names and occasionally find one we like but then I end up not liking it. Currently Kevin still likes Eleanor Kate and we both agreed on Kayleigh but I'm still not 100%.

Baby #2: Pregnancy Week 28

I'm getting bad about posting these on the correct day
28 weeks on Wednesday July 15th!

Lillian got in on some belly pics too!

Baby Growth:
  • She's starting to develop more fat, so her wrinkly skin will start to get smoother.
  • Her lungs are mature enough that she'd probably survive if she was born now. Wow!

Symptoms:
- Heartburn every night! I took like 2 Tums my whole pregnancy with Lillian and I take at least two a day with K2!
- I've been tired again lately. Not sleepy but super lazy. I thought maybe I'd get some energy and start nesting but apparently not. I still sleep fine through the night other than occasional tossing and turning to get comfortable but also feel the need to nap when Lillian naps.
-Been feeling the need to pee every 10 minutes. I usually can hold it just fine but the pressure on my bladder is intense!
- Shortness of breath especially climbing our stairs.
- I've had a few days where I just didn't feel hungry.

Dr. Appointment:
Yesterday I had my 28 week doctor appointment which meant my 1 hour glucose test.  My doctors office here is smart and gave me the sugar drink at my last appointment and told me to drink it 30-45 minutes before my 28 week appointment. I couldn't eat after midnight and luckily my appointment was at 8:45 am. The doctor said I was measuring at 31 so my belly is as big as it feels. I also had an ultrasound appointment that morning to check on the placenta. Prayers were answered and thankfully it is no longer blocking the uterus so we don't have to worry about that anymore! I had a feeling it was clear because I didn't feel the pressure anymore but did feel the pressure on my bladder. During the ultrasound the tech said "do you feel the need to pee more?" and I said YES! and she said because sweet girl's foot is pounding on my bladder. lol Her heart rate was only 128 which I thought was low since she has normally been in the 150s and the U/S tech said it gets slower later in the pregnancy and K2 was probably still sleeping since I hadn't had any breakfast yet. We didn't get any pictures printed from the U/S but we did get to see our sweet girl's face! Melted my heart and her little lips were going to town like she had a paci in her mouth!
Lillian enjoying a sucker while we wait for the doctor.

Weight Gain:
I am 26lbs above pre-pregnancy weight.

Moment of the week:
We have had an overall great week of seeing family, play dates with friends, and VBS.

July 4th Weekend

We had a fun weekend with friends, family and getting things done around the house.

Poppa helped Daddy with a lot of projects and Lillian helped too.

Getting her workout on

She is going to have some legit upper body strength

This girl is a big Daddy's girl
always a helper

And she loved having her Nena and Poppa in town.

On July 4th we headed to some friends' house for a private firework show!

Baby #2: Pregnancy Week 26

26 Weeks on Wednesday June 30th.
3 days late but at least I took a picture

Baby's Growth:
  • Her eyes are forming, and her eyes will soon start to open.
  • And her eyelashes are now grown, too.
  • She's getting her immune system ready for life on the outside by soaking up your antibodies.
  • She's taking breaths, too. They're of amniotic fluid, not air, but it's still good practice.
Symptoms:
Heartburn has returned again. Generally just in the evenings and its a symptom that's not terrible so I don't mind it. Not feeling as much pressure as I have the previous weeks so I'm hoping that is a good sign regarding the placenta previa. I did notice my feet and fingers were swelling a little this week. Nothing severe and I still wear my wedding ring but they are tight in the morning and at night. And in order to keep this blog PG lets just say my body is getting ready to Nurse and I don't mean just bigger boobs.

Movement:
Still feeling those sweet jabs into my side and bladder but oh so thankful for them.

Weight Gain: I actually weighed this week in the morning before breakfast so unfortunately it is accurate but I am about 24lbs above pre-pregnancy weight. Guess I better lengthen our morning walks a little longer.

Moment of the Week:
We finally got Daddy a new car! We did lots of research and reviewed our budget multiple times to see what worked best for us. At the end of the day we ended up with a 2016 Mazda CX-5 touring.
Daddy is very happy with it and I am very happy we didn't rush into buying something and made sure to make a smart decision for our family. We also turned Lillian's car seat to forward facing. Even though I didn't want to move her yet it has been wonderful!
