Beach Vacation 2016

Last week we went to the beach with my parents and Aunt Nina. It was our first real vacation as a family of four and Adeline's first trip to the beach. My parents have a timeshare down in Ormond Beach (basically Daytona Beach). We have been going there since I was born and this is the perfect time of year to go. Great weather and not many crowds. I'm very thankful we were able to go but it is very different "vacationing" with two kids. Our room was nice and big but only had one bedroom and a pullout couch. Lillian slept on the couch and Adeline slept in the pack n play in our bedroom. So basically they went to bed at 8pm and Kevin and I had to go to bed or sit in the dark on our phones. Plus during nap times someone had to stay up in the room with the girls but again had to be super quiet. The only other annoying thing was the tile floors. Adeline is crawling and I felt like i couldn't let her crawl around as freely because the floors always felt like sand was on them no mater how much I swept. We did make some good memories and I may have taken a few pictures. ;)

We left friday afternoon and met my parents in Chattanooga. They took Lillian in their car and Adeline stayed with us. Our plan was to travel to Macon that day and stay the night then drive the rest of the way saturday. It was nice to be able to break up the car ride like that. Saturday we ate lunch in Valdosta at Smok'n Pig. One of my Dad's favorite BBQ joints.

On down the road us girls made sure to stop in St. Augustine at the outlets!!
Lillian loved the beach the first two days and then I'm not sure what happened but she wanted nothing to do with it the rest of the week. Adeline loved the sand because she could finally crawl around. She only tried to eat the sand once or twice.

Lillian's favorite place was this kiddie pool.

And Adeline who normally loves to just float around the pool only wanted to play on these steps

Best picture I could get of their matching swimsuits.

Early Monday morning Papa, Aunt Nina, Kevin and I went on a private fishing excursion. It was just the four of us and one other lady and the Captain. I had a hard time getting any bites the first hour or so and then something just clicked. I think my Dad or Nina caught the most but I caught  a few interesting looking fish and the biggest fish of the day. Captain Doc said it was 30-40lbs, or was it 3-4lbs. ;)

I was a little hesitant even going since it was fishing for four hours but it was actually a lot of fun and the time wet by so fast. Plus on our way back to the dock we saw a pod of dolphins.

After an early dinner one night we took Lillian on a special date to play Putt Putt Golf. She wasn't terrible and did not like if we helped nudge the ball in. Definitely takes patience to play with a 3 year old. Great thing about it too was 4 and under are free. Daddy hit 3 hole in ones and Mommy became Lillian's caddy.

Another night we took Adeline out for Froyo at a place called Rhokkoh's. Mommy ended up getting Dip n Dots which is her favorite.

Lillian got some too the next day.

Kevin left Wednesday to fly back home to work the rest of the week so thankfully we had Nana, Papa, and Aunt Nina there to help. Thankful they were there to help even when Kevin was there too. I attempted to get beach pictures of just the girls Friday and should have made this a priority when Kevin was still there because they did not turn out well. Here are a few that are decent enough to share.

Lillian's First Day of MMO

Lillian started her first day of "school" on September 6th. It is just a Mother's Morning Out program and she goes 2 days a week. I decided to put her in the program for two main reasons; for socialization and to help her learn to take instructions from another authority figure. Plus it gives mommy two days a week to run errands with only one child!

I wasn't worried about her going to school. I knew she would really enjoy it but the night before I started to worry about her being independent. At home we try to have her do things on her own but the two I didn't think to teach her prior to MMO was going potty by herself and eating lunch. I naturally just wipe her after she goes potty so i know she is clean. She can wipe herself and she did fine her first day but I still worry about her going #2. The second concern was eating lunch. She eats okay at home but I had to think about what I sent her with and if she'd be able to open the packages. Later I found out they have helpers who open food for them but I was trying to make it easy on them. I just  put everything in ziplock bags and her lunch box came home empty so I guess she ate it all.

After we drop her off she has snack time, she is always more pleasant after eating. Then the rest of her schedule is something like, Chapel, academics/art, playtime, lunch, and music. With some potty breaks thrown in there. Here are the pictures we took that morning.

When we went to pick her up her teacher said she did great. We asked her about her day in the car and even tried again later that evening but all we got out of her was Yes and I don't know. We asked her if she met any new friends and she said yes. We asked their names and she said Ms. Morgan. I asked her anyone else's name and she said I don't know. We are thankful she had a good day and loves her teacher. Hopefully her second day of school will bring more conversation.

Adeline"s 10th month

Adeline turned 10 months old on August 9th.

Sleep: Adeline is consistently sleeping through the night. We generally have one last feeding around 10:30 and she can make it to 7am. Her morning naps are only about 45 minutes and afternoons naps are about an hour and a half. If sister isn't home making noise then Adeline has slept longer for her morning naps. I love watching her sleep on the monitor and she has fallen asleep sitting up lately.
She also sleeps with a little blanket animal and she loves to snuggle it

Eating: sweet baby loves food. I nurse her five times a day and she gets solids for at least three meals but I wouldn't say a full meal of solids. She loves meat but is definitely more of a picky either unlike Lillian was. Ever since we started solids she has had trouble going poop. It's so heartbreaking to watch. We tried pear juice and it only sometimes helped but we would still have to give her a suppository every few days which was painful for her. Now we sprinkle Miralax on yogurt or pour some in a bottle of water or pear juice. The Miralax has been very successful.

She started crawling this month and not long after she started pulling up on things.

Lillian is always hugging on Adeline and now Adeline is starting her plan for payback and Lillian loves it.

This pitiful face started this month. It is almost a fake cry that starts when she is hungry

Adeline got her first tooth this month and then her second one soon after. I love baby smiles with just the two bottom teeth.

she made this face a lot while she was teething
